Question: Is Catholicism a false denomination?
Simple answer: No.
Common sense answer: Catholicism is not a denomination to begin with.All denominations have human founder(s). Catholicism has no such founder but claims the Founder of founders, Christ Jesus as its founder.
Answer from Scripture scholar Gamaliel, teacher of Saint Paul the Apostle (see Acts 22:3): "Men of Israel, take care what you do with these men. For before these days Theu'das arose, giving himself out to be somebody, and a number of men, about four hundred, joined him; but he was slain and all who followed him were dispersed and came to nothing. After him Judas the Galilean arose in the days of the census and drew away some of the people after him; he also perished, and all who followed him were scattered. So in the present case I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone; FOR IF THIS PLAN OR THIS UNDERTAKING IS OF MEN, IT WILL FAIL; BUT IF IT IS OF GOD, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OVERTHROW THEM. YOU MIGHT EVEN BE FOUND OPPOSING GOD!" (Acts 5:35-39 emphasis mine) The Catholic Church for almost 2000 years since its founding has proved to the world that it is NOT THE WORK OF MAN BUT GOD!

Answer from Devil's advocate: Let's say Catholicism is a denomination. From which body is it coming from? Judaism? If indeed it came from Judaism then Judaism must be the one true Church and all are bond by God and conscience to convert to Judaism. However, this cannot be the case since Catholicism in itself is not an offshoot of Judaism but a fulfillment of Judaism as it's founder fulfilled the Laws and the Prophets. Judaism is to the Old Covenant as Catholicism is to the New.
