Consecration of the World to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

The Consecration of the World to the Immaculate Heart of Mary was made in St. Peter’s Square, Vatican City, on March 25, 1984.

Pope John Paul II had asked, in advance, for the presence of the Statue of Our Lady of Fatima that is venerated in the Little Chapel of Apparitions.

The Pope repeated, before the Statue, the Act of Entrustment which he had made in Fatima, on May 13, 1982.

These are the last words of that Act of Entrustment:

“Hear, O Mother of Christ, this cry laden with the suffering of every man! Laden with the suffering of entire societies! Please help us, with the strength of the Holy Spirit, to overcome every sin: the sin of man and the ‘sin of the world’, that is, sin in all its manifestations.

May the infinite salvific power of Redemption be made manifest, once more, in the history of the world: the infinite power of Merciful Love! May it stop evil! May it change consciences! May the light of Hope be made manifest for all, in  Your Heart!”
